Nxai Pan

Nxai Pan National Park adjoins the Makgadikgadi Pans on its northern border. The park is well known for its huge springbok herds. After the summer rains, game viewing can be very good and birding excellent If the rains have been good, December to April is the best time of year to visit.

Masses of herbivores, such as zebra, springbok, wildebeest, elephant and giraffe migrate to the area to feed on the new grass. Another interest of the park is the ‘Seven Sisters’ Baobab trees, depicted in Thomas Baines’ famous painting.
